Have you been trying to get volume in your hair and it just keeps falling flat?  Have you tried everything?  What about hot rollers?

I know the idea of hot rollers seems a little dated, but believe me, they have their uses.  A good set of hot rollers won’t cost you an arm and a leg, but they will give you amazing volume that will last all day.

My favorite brand of hot rollers are the Remington T-Studio.  You can find them at Target of all places for under $50 and they will last forever.  I think I have had my set since 2007.

Anyway, you want to find the ones that are ceramic covered in like velvet.  You also want to make sure that the clamps are lined with Ceramic as well.  The reason for this is that the ceramic will radiate the heat out, hit the ceramic plates on the clamps holding the rollers and go straight back into the hair.  You will get the most curl because the heat will really set it.

Now, just having hot rollers isn’t the only thing, you have to be putting them in right.  So here’s what you got to do.

First, section out your bangs, you don’t want to curl them with the rest of your hair unless you want to look a little crazy.

Second take a section at the front of your head, just behind where you have sectioned out your bangs.  Pull it straight up, spray the backside of the section with a spritz of good hairspray.  I recommend the Enjoy Hair Care Hair Spray, it gives you a great hold and doesn’t flake.

Now, take your first hot roller, be careful cause they can get pretty hot.  Slide it up from the base of the section of hair.  The reason I do this is it will smooth any flyaway hairs up into the section.  Once the roller reaches the top of the section, roll it back away from your face.  Roll it down until it is sitting on the top of your head.  Then put on the clamp.

Work your way back along your crown.

Now if you just want the top of your head to have volume and don’t want to have big Victoria Secret curls, just do the crown of your head.  What you want to have is a Mohawk of hot rollers down the very center of your head.  This is going to give you that amazing volume to your hair.

Once you have rolled the last of the hair in your Mohawk, lightly spray the rollers with your hair spray.  Let them sit on your head until they are cool to touch.  Remove them in a spinning motion so you don’t lose your curl.  If you don’t want curl just remove them normal and run your fingers through them.

Once removed your hair will have amazing volume along your crown, you can add a little back combing if you want and just style however you like.

Well there you go.

These are great suggestions, thanks - not enough volume is the bane of my life!
